Barron Farmhouse Extension Table
Channel farmhouse hospitality with this Barron extension table. With its generous proportions, the trestle style base, and the rustic textured finish on the maple, this table captures the timelessness of farmhouse design. When friends or family join for dinner, extend the table by adding a leaf to each end. There truly is always room for one more.
Our Barron collection features rustic maple wood. Rustic maple has a textured, worn look from the saw marks that have been intentionally left. The tables are all sanded and sealed multiple times with stain and lacquer to end up with a finish that has character, but nothing rough enough for the table to be uncomfortable. These saw marks are unique in each table top. The different textures in the wood absorb color differently giving the table a unique look. Reinforcing the farmhouse style, the bolts for the trestle remain visible as an accent. Being made of solid maple wood, these tables are heavy.
This table is an end extension table which means that you add a leaf to each end. Without the leaves, the table looks and functions as a standard table which would be used as an everyday table. With the solid leg close to the ends, on an everyday basis, sitting on the end will be a little tight. With the leaves in place, the ends offer lots of leg room. When the table extends you will see the rails and notice that they are not stained. This helps to keep the slides moving smoothly. With an end extension table, the grain on the core table runs lengthwise and on the leaves it runs widthwise for a breadboard effect. There may be a bit of a lip where the leaves meet the table top. For this table, we recommend leaves that are at least 18" to allow adequate space beyond the legs for the additional seating. Other design details include a 8/4" thick table top with a traditional square Seymour edge.
We build every table to order so you can have the table that is perfect for you. We can customize the size, the wood, the finish, the edge and the base so the table fits your style and your needs. Whatever you choose, you can be confident that you will receive a beautiful hardwood table, custom built for you.
